How to Catch A Cheating Spouse
Before you learn how to catch a cheating spouse, it’s crucial to first understand whats happening. It can be hard to catch a cheating spouse – a lot of people are strongly inclined to trust their spouse, the same trust their spouses take advantage of. People do not want to think about whether their spouse is cheating or not, and will try hard to overlook it since acknowledging the truth can be devastating.
It is difficult to have a complete, comprehensive list of things to look for to see if your partner is unfaithful since everyone’s marriage is unique. With that said, here are some general things to look for:
Has your spouse been consistently away from home by working late and on weekends, going out with friends, or been obligated to attending more company meetings/gathering? What about the short milk run to the store that takes 4 hours, or dog walks that take a lot longer then it should? If there is money that has been spent, yet has been unaccounted for, this is something to certainly raise a brow to. It could also be a sign if you don’t know how your money is spent and your partner does not allow you see the bills.
A partner who is cheating may show a shift in attitude. Your partner might be withdrawn and may care less about everything, including your children and you. Issues such as money become a bigger deal than before. Your spouse might seem unenthusiastic with life and may be wanting something more thrilling and daring. Your spouse may not want to do anything anymore.
If your spouse is cheating, they may have created another email account or bought another cell phone and may be possessive over them, like deleting the call log or locking their phone. Your partner might be using their computer a lot more than they normally would, especially after you head off to sleep. If your partner has started erasing incoming emails and has let them accumulate before, this could be a sign.
If there is infidelity in your relationship, there are some things that may change. Most of the time, the cheating spouse may be cold and angry towards you due to guilt. To justify their infidelity, a cheating partner might think you are at fault and may be cold or mean to you. Also, the number of times you and your partner have sex may change. If there has been a substantial drop off of sex, especially if your sex life between you and your partner was healthy in the past, this may raise a red flag. Conversely, the cheating partner may want to have more sex in order to not raise suspicion. Your spouse will want to work their affair around your schedule, so they might want to know where you are and when.
If you suspect your spouse of cheating, do not accuse or confront them unless you have solid proof. Talking with your partner about if they are having an affair won’t be helpful to you or them; unless it is clearly evident they were unfaithful, your partner might not admit to having an affair. These signs should not be looked at individually, but in context of everything. Go with your gut feeling and intuition! If something is not right, then most likely it is not. Trust your feelings.
