“John, this is urgent. Honest. You must call me right away.”

The person getting such a call generally won’t respond. It won’t go well if they do. They’ll realize that the only emergency was your longing to talk to them. Then they’ll be annoyed and will be even less inclined to respond to you another time.

You’re in worse shape than you were before.

Now you know the most frequent most of people make that you can avoid.

Since you now know what to avoid, you can go about leaving a successful message, one that will get your ex to call you back.
