Fix a Long Term Relationship – Don’t Make This Critical Mistake
Often people who are trying to figure out how to fix a long-term relationship seek out their friends advice.
It’s true that “that’s what friends are for” you should be a little careful before you apply your friends suggestions in your relationship.
A lot of us,and this means your friends, aren’t expert at making relationships work. If you take their advice, you’re taking a chance.
To be blunt, what I’ve noticed is that the person with the most messed up relationship, who should be the last give anyone else advice, have the strongest opinions about what someone else should do.
Unless your friends are successful marriage advisers, it’s a good idea to take their recommendations with a grain of salt.
A friend can serve as a sounding board. Going over things with them very well might help you clarify your situation.
An objective confidant can also help you out by pointing out factors that you might not have considered and helping you see the other side of the story.
It’s important that you never allow your discussions with your buddies turn into a series of complaints about your partner. You need to be looking for solutions, not complaining about the situation and getting sympathy from your friends.
If you only focus on the negative side of your relationship you will unintentionally change your feelings about the relationship and your partner. You can actually start to believe that the situation is worse than it really is.
You’ll get more of whatever you think about the most. If you focus solely on your problems, they’ll become all that you are aware of.
In short, use your friends as a source of support but be careful before you act on their recommendations.
Fortunately these days it’s easy to have access to excellent relationship advice. You can read a review of a system that I found to be excellent at:
