How To Turn Dating After Retirement Into The Pleasure It Should Be:

Why does one find that retiring is the end of their world to so many people? Especially those who lose a life partner soon after going into retirement often just lose their zest for life and turn into depressed, lonely beings just waiting for God. That is all so unnecessary. Dating after retirement can be the start of an exciting new period in your life.

The first thing that you should attend to is your self confidence. A good beginning is to get rid of the couple of extra kilos that you gained during the last few years. If you want to know how to lose fat: there is no magical formula. Do the simple things first by cutting your calorie intake and exercising more.

Lack of self discipline is probably the biggest single reason why people struggle to lose weight. Now you can try to do this all on your own, but it’s going to be more rewarding (see below) if you sign up with one of the many slimming clubs that you will no doubt find close to where you live. The clubs where you have to weigh yourself in front of everybody each week and then confess why you picked up a kilo. It makes more sense than you think. Peer pressure is a powerful force!

This can serve a dual purpose: many of these slimming clubs accept members from both sexes. Are you getting my point? Joining such a club might be the ideal opportunity of meeting someone who has the same purpose in life as you: losing weight and meeting someone interesting. If you are a gentleman you could even wear a black sport watch to one of these meetings – the ladies love them.

Eating less is unfortunately not enough. You should get more exercise. Now don’t overdo it – you don’t want to get killed you only want to get slim. If it’s been years since you last exercised, do things in moderation. Simply take a long walk in the mornings and perhaps again just before sunset. That’s when most other singles go for a walk. Be sure to take walks where there are things to talk about, like near a small lake with birds. Then talk about it – to someone else who’s also taking a walk.

An ever better option is to invite one of your fellow members at the club to walk with you. Not just any fellow member, of course. Invite the one you think has the most potential to become more than a walking partner. Perhaps you could become jogging partners later on. Who knows. Don’t be shy. Shy is for a 16 year old with acne problems.

It might take more than one walking partner and even more than one slimming club to reach your final goal, but the fun is after all in the journey, not in the destination.
